The polis an dug wardens will get near £200,000 in fundin. Polis Scotland received £166,000 tae train its officers tae recognise banned breeds. This siller will help buy new, specially equipped vans tae safely transport dugs that are oot o control. The National Dug Warden Association (NDWA) received £30,000 tae train wardens wha wark wi local communities.
Community Safety Meenister Siobhian Brown said, “Maist dug awners are responsible. Hooanivver, we maun protect the public fae dugs that micht pose a danger. The fundin for Polis Scotland an the NDWA will help us control dangerous dugs an improve public safety. The NDWA trainin fund will help dug wardens promote responsible awnership, advise on dug weelfare, an mak siccar fowk follae the law.
