Huntly, a historic market town in Aberdeenshire, is known as “The Granary of Aberdeenshire.” Situated approximately 39 miles northwest of Aberdeen and 11 miles south of Keith, it’s easily accessible by road. For those travelling by car, parking is available in the town. If you’re relying on public transport, regular bus services connect Huntly to Aberdeen and other surrounding towns. The day features a series of workshops led by acclaimed traditional musicians. In the evening, the artists will come together for a performance by the celebrated Iona Fyfe Trio. This event holds special significance as Iona Fyfe, a native of Huntly, returns to her hometown to share her extraordinary talent.

Evening Concert with the Iona Fyfe Trio
The day culminates in an evening concert featuring the formidable talents of Huntly’s own Iona Fyfe, Dylan Cairns, and Michael Biggins. Doors open at 19:00, with music starting at 19:30 for an unforgettable evening of Scottish folksongs and stories.
Iona Fyfe is one of Scotland’s finest singers and a passionate advocate for the Scots language, who also serves as the Rector of the University of Aberdeen. Her performances are known for their heart and authenticity, bringing traditional songs to life with stunning clarity and emotional depth.
